My Little Damn Table

Abby: (to McGee and Ziva) Can we continue with this, or are you guys gonna make out for a while?

 

McGee’s not blind, and he knows Abby. He knows the way she likes her coffee in the morning. He knows her strengths and her flaws.

He also knows that when Abby looks over at them, it’s not him that she’s jealous over. She probably doesn’t even realize it herself, but he sees the way that she looks at Ziva, and he knows that he doesn’t have a chance anymore.

He knows that for all Abby is sweet and kind to him, Ziva is who she’s really looking at. Ziva is who she wants, even if she doesn’t realize it yet.

Mmmm, thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite quotes from the show. LOL. I SO need to write fic based off that quote. *adds to plot bunny list*

Anyway, nice and nice. :D Though I think you meant that she WAS jealous of him? I'm confused. Wouldn't she be jealous of McGee if she wanted Ziva? Hmm. At any rate, I got the gist of the story. ;)

Yep. That line just screams fic. :D

I flipped that line several ways, and it's still not clear. What I was aiming for was that she's not jealous of him, spending time with another woman, she's jealous of Ziva paying attention to him. If that at all came out right.

At any rate, I changed of to over. Maybe that helped. *sigh*

Heh, my fic would be quite different than yours, though. McGiva all the way for me . . . LOL.

Okay, I see what you're getting at. I suppose it's hard to really get that across in writing without saying all that. It's one of those really confusing situations where you're not sure quite how to express it. I've definitely been there before. I know what you meant, though, so it works for me. :)
