Twisted Sanctuary

So how's it going for me? Why thank you for asking! It's the fifth of November and my total word count is...wait for it...let me check...54. 

But um, really it's only 52 because two of those words are "part so-and-so".

I have given myself a pep talk about not freaking out because I've written essentially nothing so far, because I've also had a crazy week this week. The thing that I have in my corner is that I don't have a set word count that I'm trying to reach, just a goal of finally finishing this fic. So it's a little less pressure that way.

I'll just start writing when I have a chance and see what happens. Hopefully it will be good fic that others enjoy reading. :) 



On a different topic, I'm exhausted and I'm not going to be updating July 5th tonight in case anyone was wondering. 

I don't know that I'll actually hit 30k word wise, but I already hit 25 and I'm not done with this damn final part yet, so why not. But more progress. Really just two scenes left to be written. This last part is going to be long as hell. Not that I foresee anyone complaining about that. But yeah.

I need to be finished by the 1st!

Only one part left to go.  This one took a bit longer to get out after a very unplanned two day delay do to being sick and spending most of one day puking my guts out, but here it is. This part is really a lot rougher than the previous ones. It was hardly more than just filling out the blanks in my outline, but it's written now and that's the biggest thing. I can come back and pretty it up and make it presentable later. 

I left it this way for tonight so the progress would be comparative. I've almost reached my round about word count goal, but I've still got three more parts to write. Tomorrow night I'll probably change the word count thing if I can, so the percentages will be different again. But, still, yay, progress!

So, objectively I'm more or less where I wanted to be after a week. I've gotten the seventh part almost completed, with as it stands now, there being twelve total. But the only reason I'm still on track is because the first couple of days I was doing two parts a day. This is partly due to real life stuff and partly to me having to go off outline for a while, which always slows me down, and this just being the parts of the story that I find harder to write. Hopefully though I can still finish in time. 

I have company right now and they go home on Saturday. I don't know how much I'll be able to write that day since a lot of it will be tied up with travel, but hopefully after they leave I can start getting more written again. That and I think the writing will be easier by then again. I hope!

All I have to say about this is I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY NOW!

That's the first three parts written and the fourth started. Of a very, very rough draft. Woo?

And since I'm messing up easy words like character names, I think I'm going to stop now.

 So, I'm doing NaNo this year. Or at least my version of it, taking advantage of fandom's general air of productiveness at that time to finish up something I've been putting off for a while. That's the plan as it stands now anyway. 

And then today I was talking to rysler and ended up with a plot bunny. I had sworn off starting a new fic until after NaNo, working on some drabbles I needed to finish up instead. But this plot bunny ate my brain and before I knew it, I was writing out an outline. And noting that if I wrote one part a day, I could finish just in time to start NaNo. 

For some people this is no biggie. For me...well, lets just say I got jammed on the last two thirds of the last part of the fic I just finished writing and ended up staring at a blank page for three weeks attempting to finish the damn thing. 

But I'm attempting it anyway.  Heh. 

So far, so good? Prepare to see me crash and burn tomorrow. Or feel free to bug me about it. Either one.




Edit - I should say that I don't actually have a word count goal. Just I have enough parts that I know it would be easy for me to hit that number of words, so to give a guestimate of my progress I went with that.
