HERE THERE BE SPOILERS...for the promo. As I know of no actual The Grove spoilers.

  • The establishing shot in the car miiiiiiiight be one of the most deliciously romantic things I've seen in quite some time. I'm enjoying the heck out of this whole established otp couple. (The cynical part of my brain expects this not to last but I'm savoring every last part of it until such time.)
  • Ivy's (Jessica Leccia's) coy "Did I?" is made of win. As always, ever, with her.
  • Nico's (Crystal Chappell) smooth touch was simultaneously awesome, smooth, and just a little bit lol worthy.
  • Meanwhile Jessica Leccia is (pardon, my shallowness) still smokin' hot. Or maybe even hotter than usual. I can't decide. Oh the huge manatees. How will I ever deal with this conflict.
  • The history lesson of The Grove (the town) was nice. Good way to get the exposition in. I admit to not remembering the name of the Dads, but I look forward to seeing Bob Woods and Jordan Clarke go head to head in this. It looks like it's gonna be all kinds of epic snark and fun. (And million dollar bets that Nico's gonna be all kinds of upset about, but I'm getting ahead of myself.)
  • My favorite moment of this trailer promo so far has to be Ivy pounding on that door yelling, "Hey!" because girlfriend is pissed off. It's hot and kind of awesome. And yes, I'm shallow. Sue me. (Only, please don't. I'm broke.)
  • I'm not sure what Dude is doing to piss off Nico on her special day and is bullshit...however, the only thing I can see in that scene are his salmon (red? pink?) jeans.
  • I do not know what Max Kincaid (Christian LeBlanc) did to piss off Nico. I suspect it will be fun to find out though.
  • Marigold! (Nadia Bjorlin) There are no words. I look forward to this with infinite squee.
  • Dual-family toasts! I look forward to seeing how quickly this goes to hell in a hand-basket.
  • Ivy blatantly checking out Nico's ass as Nico attempts to fix her car is priceless.
  • The "dykes" line might make some people uncomfortable. I adore just for the rolled-eyes, knee-slapping, disgusted OMG from the other woman (I'm assuming slightly younger female relative) sitting at the table. Everyone has that one relative right?
  • ...with the perfect book end shot of Nico checking out Ivy's ass while she's bent over Ivy's car and Ivy has to walk away to ______ (fill in the blank). I kind of hope this is their first meeting because if it is? Love it.
  • Nico (Crystal Chappell) in a tux might not do as much for me as for some, ymmv, but it's still damn hot. And as a long time Otalia fan, how can I not love (FINALLY) seeing those two in a tux and a big old white dress getting that happy ending? Although I suspect in this case it might be the happy beginning from which all things descend into plot driven conflict. Though I don't mean conflict in necessarily a bad way, but a way in which interesting things happen that make our favorite characters lives muuuuuuch more complicated and lead to lots of soapy hijinks along the way. A thing to which I'm greatly looking forward.

If you're interested in seeing more about The Grove, be sure and check out their website. There's a plot summary and character guide available. The number of big name soap stars (amazing actors) working on this project is ridiculous and I for one CANNOT wait to get to see this thing.

...I need a Nico/Ivy icon. /dreamy sigh
