“This is the best idea I’ve ever had,” Olivia crowed triumphantly.
With her back safely to Olivia, Natalia rolled her eyes. “I’m not sure about that, Sweetie.” She turned away from her unpacking and stopped Olivia with a light touch to her arm. Natalia smiled, cupping Olivia’s cheek and kissed her lightly. “I think you might have made some slightly more important decisions at some point.”
“Oh, please!” Olivia said with a dismissive wave of her hand. She pulled Natalia closer to her, wrapping her arms around Natalia’s waist. “Rafe came with us - on vacation.”
Natalia snorted. “Because you waited until he had leave and then bribed him with a family visit to Disney World.”
“So? He’s here, isn’t he?”
Natalia couldn’t help but smile. “Yes, he is.” She covered Olivia’s hand with her own and squeezed. “Thank you.”

“I can’t believe I brought you to the ‘the place where dreams come true’’ and all you want to do is go see orange groves,” Olivia muttered. “Oranges, Natalia? Really?”
“We didn’t all grow up on a tropical island, Olivia,” Natalia murmured back just as quietly. “And besides, my dreams have already come true. What more do I need?”
Olivia just shook her head and pulled Natalia closer. “When you say things like that...”
“I know,” Natalia agreed. “You make me feel the same way.”
“Good,” Olivia said firmly. “I love you, Natalia Rivera. And don’t you ever forget it.”
“Never.”
H is for Hot, Mac/Ziva, JAG/NCIS, widget007
A bead of sweat trickles down Mac's throat. Ziva follows it's descent until it reaches the base of Mac's neck and then leans over to cover it with her lips. Mac doesn't open her eyes but reaches up to tangle her fingers in Ziva's thick hair and hold her where she is. Her fingers tighten as Ziva's teeth scrape lightly over her skin. Ziva nips a little bit harder and is rewarded with Mac's eyes snapping open.
"Are you trying to leave a mark?" she asks with an arch of her eyebrow.
Ziva shakes her head and nuzzles into Mac's neck. "It will not show above your collar. And..." she hesitates. "You are free now."
Mac snorts cynically, but her nails scratch lightly at the base of Ziva's head. "You know it's not that simple."
"No," Ziva admitted. The mood feels as if it's slipping away.
Mac pushed herself up on one elbow and rolled over, pushing Ziva onto her back and covering Ziva's body with her own. "But just because it's not simple, doesn't mean it's not worth doing." She stroked Ziva's cheek with the back of her fingers and kissed her - hard.
Ziva smiled against Mac's lips and fell back against the sheets, wrapping her legs around Mac's waist.
Perhaps it wasn't as much of a lost cause as she had feared.
I is for Isolation, Kalinda/Alicia, The Good Wife, marleykaren
Alicia feels carved into little pieces, something different for everyone, even as she tries to remain wholly herself. It's a matter of answering demands, seeing what's necessary and doing what must be done to keep her family safe, her children happy.
The worst part of it is the way that it makes her feel - like she can trust no one, because everyone has their own agenda. Not Peter surely, he broke that trust long ago, even if it had taken her more time to realize that. From him she guards her heart.
Will seems easier, friendly and supportive, but he holds in his hands the power to ruin her. It doesn't mean much to her, not after Peter brought her world down around her, but if she loses her job then her family loses her only income. From him she guards her body.
Carey slipped past her defenses at some point - or the first layer at least. He's ruthless, cold-heartedly practical but there's light and goodness in him and somewhere along the way Alicia became fond of him. But she never forgets that what links them is a no-holds-competition, corporate bloodsport. From him she guards her mind.
Kalinda is the biggest enigma in Alicia's life, more than what Peter might or might not have done. Alicia has no idea of what truly motivates Kalinda. Alicia's never been to Kalinda's home and knows next to nothing about her life outside of work - if Kalinda has one. But of all the people in her life, it's Kalinda she trusts most of all, because Kalinda makes no demands, she simply accepts what Alicia is willing to offer. She doesn't push for more or scoff at less. She makes Alicia feel comfortable, even when she's asking questions that make Alicia want to squirm.
Kalinda is what she needs, so Alicia hangs on to what they have determinedly, knowing that when she truly needs her Kalinda will be there, not to save her from the world, but from herself.
J is for Jealousy, Abby/Ziva, NCIS, mirandyscrow
"Do you have to act so jealous every time Tony shows interest in a woman?" Abby asked, slamming her hands down on the evidence table as Ziva strode into her lab, only a step behind her.
"I do not act jealous," Ziva said indignantly. "And what about McGee?"
Abby gasped and straightened abruptly, folding her arms across her chest. "What about McGee?"
"You are always touching him, kissing his cheek, hugging him. And when he goes on missions, you worry very much for his safety." Ziva took a step forward, moving around the table. "Should I be worried, Abigail?"
"No," Abby protested. "Of course not. I love you, Zee. You know that. Timmy is just...Timmy. He means a lot to me. He's special, but I don't have feelings for him anymore," Abby added in a rush. "I worry about all of you - every time you leave."
"You should not. We are highly trained field agents."
Abby nodded, her head lowering. "Something can always go wrong," she murmured.
"Indeed," Ziva said. "But not often. We are very good at what we do." She was close enough now that she could reach out and cup Abby's face in both hands. She did. "It is the same for me with Tony, Abigail. You worry for McGee every time he steps outside this building. I worry for Tony's heart. I know what it is like to be broken and empty. I only want him to find what I have." She wrinkled her nose. "But not who I have. I would be very upset."
Abby laughed softly, her head still bowed. "That's it? You promise."
Ziva smiled indulgently. "I promise." She lowered her finger to tip Abby's chin up. "Now kiss me quickly, Ahuvati, before Gibbs comes in and we are in trouble."
