I maintain and sorta oversee a fan fiction index for a message board - the Dark Lords Council - that allows any kind of fan fiction or original fiction. Most of the fan fiction comes from fandoms such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Alias, Pirates of the Carribean, Fascape, Stargate SG-1, etc.
In my experience each fandom, especially as far as fan fiction is concerened has it's own specific jargon, certain slang words that denote specific 'ships, or represent a certain type of fic that is fandom specific, etc. I'm not very immeresed into the fandom communities for all of these different communities, so any help that folks could give me with this would be greatly appreciated!

I'm noticing that I'm losing touch with the SW jargon. I think that's because I'm avoiding the post-NJO stuff. There is a lot of new slang getting into the system that I'm not too sure about. Especially the cursing in SW.
You know, you should post this on the DLC in the writer's section if you haven't already. It would be a really good discussion topic.

I know what you mean about SW and I sorta feel the same way.
Okay, I think I will.
