Right, so I just kind of discovered Marion Zimmer Bradley's writing.  I mean, I've known about it for years, but I could never really get into anything that she wrote.  Personally I think it was an age thing.  The first time I grabbed one of her books, I was probably between nine and eleven.  At that time I think this was over my head.

But at any rate, I found 'em, read 'em, loved 'em, and as is the usual process for me when dealing with a series of books that is not infinite, I'm going looking for fan fiction.  Can anybody help me out?  I'd particularly love to get my grubby little fingers on any Renunciate focused fan fic.

It might be difficult to find. I think Bradley's one of those writers that didn't tolerate fic about her 'verse.

I think she's one of the first authors that said "no fan fic." There was something about a fan fic writer giving her a manuscript and her next book pretty much followed the plot, characterization, language of the other writer. The fan fic writer sued. Though that might be an urban legand. Or internet legend.

Yeah, as soon as you said that I remembered the incident that you're referring to. If it is internet legend, it's a pretty darn good one because I've heard it a lot for years, I just didn't connect the dots.
