Wow, I'm kind of impressed with my own scene now. :p I didn't remember putting all that in there.
To be serious for a second, the scene that was running through my head the whole time I wrote this was the one just after Ziva has shot Ari and she's sitting in Gibb's basement, leaning back against a wall or something and she just looks so exhausted. Then she started singing for him. (I believe it was some sort of lament or prayer.) And I really just kind of wanted this scene to be the mirror of that one. *shrug*
