You do dialect better than I would ever dare. And I could feel the heat and the muddy, tepid water.
I do thank you for the compliment about the dialogue, though I might beg to differ. It can really be a challenge to not make them sound stupid and for me to loosen up my natural tendencies. They sound a lot like the people I'm around all of the time, but for the most part I'm in a habit of editing as many of the colloquialisms out of my writing as I can because I've confused a lot of people in the past, lol.
And the last few paragraphs. More erotic than sweet, and yet still so very Ruth. I'm so very pleased you wrote them that way, and so viscerally.
