Do politicians really think that the American people are really that stupid? I'll admit that as an American I don't think we've shown our best side in recent years. I mean I was a resident of Palm Beach County at the time of the 2000 election. The word "chad" still gives me the shivers. But really?
These people are trained political professionals. If they think that we think that these nasty things that they say about other candidates are truly mistakes or someone just goofing that they can then apologize for it's just ridiculous. You want to take a cheap shot at the other person, get the nastiness out there, and then not look like an asshole about saying it. That's just...I mean, I thought we got over that stupid crap in kindergarten. But apparently the future leaders of our nation haven't.
And listen, I'm not saying anything about Obama with this. As far as I can remember, Clinton's done this several times over the past few months. This is actually the first time I'd heard of Obama doing it, and more than anything else I was just disappointed. I wish that our leaders didn't seem to think that we were this stupid. It would be nice, you know?
