Mmm-kay.

So I get these nifty little emails from LJ every month telling me about all the cool new features I can have if I shell out money for a paid account...which I don't, so I can't.

There's nothing in particular that I really care about having in these little updates so my lack of a paid account doesn't bother.  But this month I got told that LJ has now added private messages. 

My first was response was along the lines of - "Okay, cool."  Because I seriously hate dry-emailing someone if I have a question, or wanna tell them something that's OT or something like that.  It just...I dunno.  I'm weird about emailing someone if they haven't given me their email addresses personally. 

My second thought was - "Oh, hell, LJ has private messages now."  Because seriously, I've been an admin on a message board for close to three years now.  Some days I'd think it was too soon if I ever saw another pm again.  Because...seriously annoying when some idget starts spamming your inbox for attention, or whining about some other user, or how they want you to come read their awful arse fic. I come to LJ to get away from that crap. 

*sigh*  So, I'll just shut up now and get back to being cool with LJ having private messages now.  Also, I'm constantly amused by the fact that the abbreviation for more than one private message is pms.

In other LJ related news, I've almost gotten sick of my LJ layout and colors so I'm searching around for another one. So far...nada.  I'm also trying to decide if I wanna go with one of the two layouts that'll allow me to put up a banner of my choosing and force me to find a color scheme that I like or if I actually wanna go to all that trouble.  And if I do want to go to all that trouble, what do I want to make the banner of...so many options...
