Black Witch, White Curse Excerpt

I'm so geeked that the first two chapters are finally up.  My squee could hardly be contained.

But, wow, this book looks so much darker and angstier than the last one.  I have to say though that I really do think I'm going to like it, mainly for two reasons.

1. "Lying is easy.  Just make something up and pretend it's real. I do it all the time."

This really explains so much about Rachel.  Like how her love for Ivy is totally platonic and not gay in the least.

2. There is probably more Ivy in the second chapter than all of For a Few Demons More or at least half of Outlaw Demon Wails.

3. Ford is pretty dang awesome.  I want him to be around more.  It's really fun to have someone call Rachel on her emotional shit who she can't just deny, deny, deny with.  Maybe he'll clue her in on her less than platonic feelings for Ivy?

4. Marshall (it literally took me a minute to remember his name. I thought it was Malcolm, lol.) and Rachel are still completely and boringly platonic. Thank goodness.

5. Jenks looks as if he might have known way, way more than he was telling about Kisten. Very dark and twisty, it might be.  I'm definitely interested.

6. Robbie!  The Morgan brother that I love to not like very much.  Is it wrong that I hope that if he tries his negative, dissaproving crap on Rachel, Ivy will do her protective act on him? Because that would be so much fun.

7. Also? Mentions of Ivy the Candystripper?  Awesome!
