[livejournal.com profile] racethewind10  asked:

1. Why The Hollows? *g* you knew it was coming

Heh. The Hollows surprised me really. The first book I read was For a Few Demons More and honestly, while I was interested I was kinda lost and not that impressed and then I started skimming through towards the end and all of a sudden, holy hell, but there were hot girls making out in hot ways in the totally random book that I'd never heard of before! It was an oversight that I had to immediately rectify and I went out and found the other books pretty soon after that. The more I read the more totally freaking obvious and inevitable the relationship between Rachel and Ivy seemed from the beginning of the series. After that...well, my immediate impulse with a fandom that I like is to fic it, so...when I realized there was an audience for it, I dove right in. The rest is history, or so they say. :p

2. When did you first start writing? What was the impetous?

Oh god. This is where it gets embarrassing. I was fourteen the first time I started writing fan fiction. I discovered fic totally by accident. I was really into Star Wars and I just kinda stumbled across it around the time I discovered the internet. At first I kinda thought it was blasphemy and then I realized that for a fast reading, book junkie like me it was kind of heaven if you could actually find good fic. So eventually I really wanted to read stories about the relationship between Jaina Solo and Mara Jade. In retrospect I had a massive crush on Mara Jade. I did say this was gonna be embarrassing right? So anyway, I couldn't find any of these fics that were like I wanted so I got the brilliant idea to write my own story. To say it sucked and was really awful, would probably be a massive understatement. After that I got lucky and I ran into this twenty-one year old grad student who I talked into letting me beta for her, which...god, I so don't know how I did that. So in return she beta'd for me, and that's pretty much how I learned most of the basic language and/or grammar skills that I now have.

3. What is your inspiration in life?

Um, I'm supposed to have inspiration? Oops. I dunno. I wouldn't really consider myself inspired. I've never known what I wanted to do with my life or had any dreams really. It sounds sad, but I don't know. If you mean inspiration in the sense, of people you look up to and want to be like, I'd have to say my Dad. I grew up practically worshiping him and when he fell off the pedestal for me it was kinda hard, but it kind of made me love him more, because he had issues just like me. So, yeah. This should totally be called 'The Way More Than You Wanted To Know' Quiz.

4. What is your greatest fear?

Loosing my family. No contest. Sometimes I feel like they're strangling me and I don't know how to deal with them. But I couldn't deal without them either. They're the most important thing to me.

5. What is one thing you must do before you die?

I guess this one sorta goes along with the dreams thing. If I'd been asked several years ago, I'd have said go to NYC, but I've been there now. Um, I have a very TMI answer, but I'm not going there. So...I guess, um, not be alone. I know that sounds like a crazy goal, but I think I'd like to find a person that I want to spend the rest of my life, or at least the forseable future with as a partner. Wow. That was cheesy.

It makes me sound twelve. I promise I'm not braiding anyone's hair or playing with Barbie's as we speak. :p

LMAO hon, you're a lesbian (or bi, I'm not going to assume) but seriously it'd be weird if you DIDN'T want to find someone to spend your life with ;p

Dykes like me are an anomoly.

[identity profile] jaina47.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, like everything else in life I have conflicting feelings about settling down. I guess I wouldn't want to do that any differently. Knowing my own mind and not having conflicting feelings would just be too weird for me. :p

Okey-dokey. Here goes:

1. What's your favorite color?

2. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

3. What's your favorite memory?

4. Have you ever broken any bones?

5. If you could chose someone to be the President (does not have to be one of the actual candidates) who would it be?

Hehe All very interesting. I always wondered where Jaina came from.

I'm game to try this, but it'll take me time to post answers I am sure.

Oh, and I'll wish you lots of luck finding that partner in this state! :D

[identity profile] jaina47.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, I'm a Star Wars fangirl at heart. I've kind of drifted away from that fandom due to shifting interests and a desire to get away from that specific drama, but the name has crossed a lot of boards with me so I'm stuck with it now.

1. How did you come up with your username? :p

2. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?

3. What's your favorite book?

4. Do you have a hobby (other than writing)?

5. What's the most thought provoking thing someone's ever said to you?

[identity profile] jaina47.livejournal.com 2008-10-02 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Shada! *hugs*

1. What's your favorite Farscape episode and why?

2. As a non-US citizen, what do you think of our election insanity?

3. What's your dream job?

4. How did you learn your graphics skillz?

5. Why is Shada (presumably) one of your favorite characters? :D

Interesting questions, and varied too. I'll answer them now.

Hell yes! The Hollows books are good but Ivy/Rachel is twice as much. It truely is obvious isn't it? I can't believe that Kim just accidentally wrote that. It's my belief that it is the official HEA for the series.

There's just a few characters that exist in the beginning of the series: Kisten, Nick, Trent and Ivy. One is dead, the other two complete *holes, the last one (Ivy) is a very likely candidate. Just think about it. Kim wouldn't introduce a character this late into the series that Rachel would have her HEA with. It's just not possible to build solid enough relationship in that time. And which relationship has the most solid roots? Yep, Rachel/Ivy.

I so hope we're right. I've seen a lot of books and tv shows with a lot of potential take very bad wrong turns (no, pun intended).

So yeah...I remain eternally hopeful. :D
