New Layout & Banner!

Woot!  So I finally got a banner for my LJ. Yay!  I knew the minute I saw that scene in Judgement Day that I really wanted that picture of Ziva for a banner. Yes, I am a shallow, shallow person.  But damn it, Cote de Pablo is freaking gorgeous!  Anyway, I finally found some really great caps of that scene, courtesy of miseradreamer so I whipped up a very basic banner last night.  It's nothing special and I know a lot of people who could do a much better job of it, but I'm happy so who cares, right?

I did hate that I had to change my layout to be able to use the banner, but alas I'm one broke-ass girl and I can't afford the paid account.  3 column is the layout that I like the better of the two that the Plus account has to offer with a banner.  That said - I freaking hate the blurb box, I miss being able to see all of my tags like I could with my last layout and I wish I could figure out how to swap the ads from the right side of the page to the left.  Can anyone help me out with the ads? I swear I used to know how to do that.

I also updated my profile finally.  It only took me, you know, two years or more to get around to that so, go me. Heh.

The header's quite nice. Basic accounts--the ones before LJ started to Suck--and plus accounts *can* have images in other layouts besides the ones LJ makes it super easy for. It just takes a bit of patience and CSS. I don't know what your layout was before, but if you want to revert back to it and keep the header image, let me know and I'd be happy to help figure out how to do the code.

Oh, that would really be awesome, if you don't mind. I didn't realize how used to I'd gotten to my previous layout and how much I had gotten attached to it! I was using the Smooth Sailing layout and the color scheme was Under Fire.

I take it back. It's a really quick fix. In the Customization Wizard, go to Custom CSS. In the box labelled "Custom stylesheet", insert the following code:

.pageheaderblock {background-image: url("IMAGE"); background-position: top center; background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: HHHpx;}

Replace IMAGE with the url address of your header. Replace HHH with the height of your header image plus 5px. You can change the number until you get the spacing you want between your header and title lines.

Click save changes and you should be good to go. Email me or send me a message through LJ if you run into any problems.
