Rizzoli and Isles

I watched the premiere and I thought it was pretty fun. It's nice to see Sascha Alexander again and this role looks like it suits her.

I continue to find it amusing and ironic that while Angie Harmon is the most conservative Republican to ever conserve or republic, the woman can be counted on to bring the femslashy subtext no matter what. I...don't understand, but I'll take it.

Like, I said it was fun and I thought that Rizzoli and Isles had insane chemistry. I also liked the relationship I guess (but I don't mean that in a romantic sense, for sure) between Rizzoli and her old partner. There were plenty of head slapping, why did you do that woman, moments. I don't know how many times I sat there all "LOCK THE DAMN DOOR" when the serial killer was after her. And could she not tell her mother to go home when she knew there was a serial killer after her and she was leaving? Meh. That was irritating, but not unexpected.

I did like that Rizzoli had a nice, comfortable home and mocked the spartan quarters and tv dinners cliche. It was nice for a change. Although if the constant idiotic primping continues, I might get all stabbity. I don't mind the guy, particularly. I'm not that invested yet, but geez, unprofessional much? Giving women in the workforce a bad name? Something. Geez.

I haven't read the books so I have no idea how this compares, whether it's better or worse, but I'll probably give it a shot again.
