I waited a few days until I read this and then devoured it. It was shorter than usual and more slim pickin's in regard to details; not as rich in content, you know? For example, most of the story I saw only glimpses of Ivy: her gray voice, her dark eyes, her hair..it was like the Cheshire cat, seeing only the grin, not the entire cat. Perhaps that was due to Rachel and her perpetual denial. I was so stoked when Pierce had her admit that she loved Ivy "more than a sister" (no kidding!).

Of course, there were other moments that slowly built awareness of Ivy: Rachel telling her "I want to be with you" and freaking out when Ivy is unconscious; the descriptions of Ivy kicking ass and stalking away to kick ass (love kick-ass Ivy!); holding Ivy's hand..by the end of the book I had a clearer vision of Ivy, which was a relief, b/c Rachel really surrounds herself with some idiot guys. I mean, Pierce was nice in the foxhole, but I'm with Jenks on the sex: ugh!

Not sure what I think about the Trent development but it's good to see some more background development. Matalina..sad. Al..good and creepy. Nick..prick..or is there more? Glenn and Daryl..what's the real story?

Overall, enjoyable but..we need more Ivy!
