I offer no guarantee for fic quality, but my one ongoing GL fic actually goes AU right before the July 4th stuff happens. It still includes the baby bit, but hey, Jessica Leccia does not need maternity leave in fan fiction. :p
I know what you mean. There are frequently (well, maybe not frequently but often) stories that make me want to give up writing altogether. My brain wails "But I'll never be that good!" And then I go back and re-read and try to figure out how the hell they did that!
The thing with Criminal Minds for me is that I have to fight for tv time in my house so if it's not something that everyone already watches or I can convince them to watch, it's hard for me to get a hold of it. And my house is practically and anti-Criminal Minds house. Though I do read the fan fic now and again, if it's an author that I already know I like writing it.
Hmmm, I'll have to watch a little bit more of Leverage. I've only been catching glimpses of it here and there and I haven't really sat down and actually given it a shot yet.

Eep. I've been working on this damn ff100 since the beginning of '06 and I only have two fics left. I have to finish this or I'll go insane.
I think my big problem might actually be tv fatigue? I don't know. I'm just not finding a lot that interests me right now. I want something smart, funny, and feminist that doesn't emasculate men. Heh. I should probably just go search for the Holy Grail or something easy like that, huh?
